Click it on a live page and it runs several extraction algorithms (Color Cube, Median Cut, a Material Design mode) to hand you the exact hex codes actually rendering on that site, plus one-click export to Sketch, Adobe Swatch, or SVG: devtools' color picker only gives you one value at a time, not a full extracted palette.
Use it when you're doing a competitor audit and need their real brand colors fast, or when a client sends a screenshot of a site they like and says "something like this": point the extension at the live URL instead of eyeballing hex values by hand.
