Material Symbols is Google's variable icon font, packing 2,500+ (now closer to 3,000+) glyphs into three styles (Outlined, Rounded, Sharp), with adjustable fill, weight, grade, and optical size axes in one file.
Variable-font axes mean one icon can morph between unfilled and filled, or thin and bold, at runtime via CSS instead of swapping in a separate SVG for each state.
