CrewAI is an open-source Python framework (MIT license) for orchestrating multiple AI agents that collaborate on a task, plus a managed cloud platform, CrewAI AMP, for deploying and monitoring those agent workflows.
Unlike every other tool in this batch, CrewAI isn't project management software for people: it's infrastructure for building autonomous AI agent workflows, where a "crew" of agents with defined roles work through a set of tasks. The narrow job it does is agent orchestration and deployment, not tracking human tasks, sprints, or deadlines.
Built for developers and technical teams writing Python to build agentic automation, not for designers or PMs looking for a task board. A design studio would only reach for this if building AI-powered internal tooling of its own.
The core framework is free and open source, self-hosted with no license cost. The managed AMP platform has a free Basic tier (Studio visual editor, GitHub integration, 50 workflow executions/month, then $0.50 per additional execution) with custom Enterprise pricing above it.
