The problem
Doctors across Indian hospitals struggle to view past medical records when a patient switches facilities or visits a new specialist. Patients end up carrying heavy physical files or missing critical test reports entirely, which leads to repeated diagnostics and delayed emergency care. This happens because hospitals use fragmented electronic health record systems that do not talk to each other, and privacy laws create high barriers for cross-institutional data sharing.
Designing a solution means building an interface that lets clinicians quickly pull verified medical history while giving patients granular control over who sees their personal data. The design has to balance extreme time pressure in emergency rooms with strict consent protocols, operating within low-bandwidth environments where older patients might need family members to manage their digital profiles.
Success criteria
Clinicians can locate key past lab results within thirty seconds of opening a new patient file, and patients can revoke data access with a single tap.
