The problem
Urban working households in Indian cities rely heavily on domestic workers for daily chores like cooking, cleaning, and childcare. When a worker quits or goes on sudden leave, families face immediate operational chaos that disrupts work schedules and daily routines. Finding a reliable replacement takes days of frantic calls to local neighborhood networks, leaving working parents and nuclear families under immense stress.
Existing on-demand maid apps often require long subscription commitments or fail to verify background details properly, which makes them untrustworthy for urgent single-day needs. Because trust in domestic help is heavily built on local word-of-mouth recommendations, app-based platforms struggle to replicate that reliability for sudden short-term gaps. Designers need to create a service flow that bridges this trust deficit and secures verified backup help within hours.
Success criteria
